A week of Mixed Reality in Paris - or is it the other way around? Our specialists were invited to take part in Microsoft’s MR Porting Lab in the French capital. Needless to say they had great fun!
HoloLens assisted manufacturing
Flanders Make has a mobile research lab touring the country to show how digitization (industry 4.0) can improve manufacturing. One of the tech demonstrations in the lab is a HoloLens app made by us, where Augmented Reality helps you assemble a complex component. Click here for more info.

Singapore’s first ever VR masterclass
Together with Eminence Events and the Employment and Employability Institute e2i, we organized a Virtual Reality masterclass in Singapore. Our Chief Creative Technologist Wim Bonjean flew in from Dubai to share his insights on interactive technologies and creating immersive experiences using VR, AR and MR.

SWITCH on innovation in Singapore
Our local office participated in SWITCH, the “Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology”. The venue was at One North, where high-tech start-ups are located. We showcased our latest VR projects and created an AR environment with markers, letting visitors experience both virtual and augmented content.
Banking on B·U·T at Sibos 2016 in Geneva
Every year SWIFT organizes the Sibos conference - the world’s leading financial services event. SWIFT called upon our infographic artists to introduce SWIFTLab, on our interactive specialists for a customizable touch-screen interface to show off software applications, and on our e-learning team for a gamified learning tool.
eHealth mirror in the house of the future
In the presence of the Belgian Minister of Health, the Living Tomorrow experience center revealed our interactive eHealth mirror. The giant screen uses the gesture based Kinect system, a digital scale in the floor, and several sensors for contactless heart and breathing rate readings.
Augmented reality gamification in e-Government
Sharjah (UAE) revealed a game created by our Dubai office. The app is a gamified communications channel for all government entities. It uses AR and in-app tasks for kids to gain points, enhance their avatar and progress in the game. The goal is to explore Sharjah and answer government surveys in a fun way.
Virtual reality all over the place
Lots of new toys at our offices: HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Microsoft HoloLens (yes!) join the numerous Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear variants we got to know well. One problem: our engineers no longer want to go home at night!
New chromakey studio inaugurated
Our office in Belgium opened a new 8x8m chromakey studio on its premises. Fully sound proofed, equipped with broadcast cameras and a separate control room, it’s ready to be deployed for studio shoots, VR projects and webinars.
Caterpillar VR project lives on
After the huge success at the Bauma exhibition of our VR application and mega-touch-wall, global CAT offices are making the investment pay off even more. Language adaptations are in demand, as trade fairs across the globe are seeing the high-tech experiences attract big crowds.
O-I online catalog continues to expand
Proving the success of the online Glass Catalog we designed and built earlier for the European and Asia Pacific regions, O-I commissioned to expand the concept to the Latin American market.
Award for Helix animation
B·U·T, O-I and Amorim won an award for their Helix launch video at the 22nd Pro Oenovideo International Grape and Wine Film Festival in Montpellier, France. The 3D animation introduces a revolutionary bottle and reusable cork concept and won first prize in the category ‘Innovation film’.
